Super sparkling spoons!

Visitors. Tea. Rooting through all of the spoons in the drawer trying to find one that is at least LESS tarnished. Eeeeeek! I need fret no more! Today I cleaned all of my teaspoons with bicarbonate of soda. In an instant I had sparkling spoons that will definitely NOT have me cringing the next time I offer my guests a refreshment. All you need is warm water, a cloth and a ramekin to put the bicarbonate in. It was so quick and easy that I'm going to keep a little ramekin of bicarbonate beside the washing up liquid. Next on my hit list is my mugs!

Super skin saviour!!!!

I have very dry sensitive skin on my face. Every winter it feels taut and on fire. Well no more! This year I started using Hydraluron.
It's hyaluronic acid. You put a layer on underneath your regular moisturiser and it helps your skin to absorb tons more moisture. I buy it in Boots. It seems to only be available in the larger Boots stores. It is also expensive!
It has made a huge difference to my skin this year. This was a repurchase for me. Unfortunately, I am now hopelessly addicted to this serum. My face will thrive but my pocket will suffer!

Quick and healthy stir fry

At the end of the week I tend to be exhausted. I want to eat something quick but nutritious. The easiest thing to make is a tasty stir fry. I don't have a wok. I used to but I found that they take up too much space in the cupboard so I just use a large frying pan now. It tastes the same. Ingredients: 1 onion 1 clove of garlic Sesame oil (this gives great flavour but is not essential) Cherry tomatoes A selection of vegetables (eg. Brocolli, green beans, baby corn, sugar snap peas, mangetout, etc) Soy sauce A turkey or chicken breast
I tend to serve this with rice but you could also serve it with noodles. This recipe serves two. Heat a tablespoon of sesame oil in a large frying pan. Add the meat. When it is cooked add the onion. Add freshly ground black pepper. I don't use salt in this as soy sauce is very salty. When this is cooked add the garlic and the cherry tomatoes. If you are using cherry tomatoes and brocolli now is a good time to add it as these take longer to cook than the other vegetables. Cook these for a while and then toss in the remaining vegetables.Stir for a minute or two. Add soya sauce and serve on a bed of rice. Try not to overcook the vegetables. They should be crunchy, bright and colourful. A rainbow on a plate!
I always keep turkey and chicken breasts individually wrapped in my freezer. I wrap them and freeze them when I buy them. This ensures that there is no waste and that I always have something healthy and nutritious at my fingertips.

Beautiful spring flowers

On Saturday Brian went out to buy me croissants. He is a very dutiful husband! I was treated to croissants and a cappuccino in bed. He also brought me flowers.

I absolutely LOVE the colours of these lillies and roses. The orange and peach cheers up my sitting room in this cold weather. I put them on my blue coffee table where the colours pop beautifully.

It was a really lovely surprise! It gave me a great boost and an amazing start to the weekend.

Sorry for the lack of writing recently. Things have been a bit insane but I will be back very soon!
